Hanging birch is very similar to the otherwise common wart birch, but in contrast it has heavy, gracefully falling branches that are covered in beautiful green small birch leaves in spring and summer. The branches move nicely in the wind, which creates harmony and liveliness. The variety is very tall, so the choice of plant location is important so that it can, with its full height, create the compact rewarding romantic environment for which it is adapted. The color of the trunk tends towards white and can crack in deep furrows on older specimens. It obtains the beneficial properties that the birch has, e.g. to thrive in varied environments and soils, which makes it invaluable and very worthy of cultivation.
